Ryan is the wild-eyed frontman/founder/multi-hyphenate of the kitchen-sink cult rockers Man Man (ANTI- Records) and “doom-wop” band Mister Heavenly (Subpop Records). Dubbed “one of rock’s best working lyricists” and featured in media as diverse as Esquire, Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair, NPR, and Anderson Cooper 360 (wearing a tunic emblazoned with multiple Wolf Blitzer faces and singing a song re-imagining the bearded news anchor as a nocturnal baby eater…look it up, it’s devilishly surreal), his music has also been licensed in numerous television shows and commercial campaigns such as Nike, Fiat, The Exorcist, Divorce, Monday Night Football, Tony Hawk, Weeds, and Boardwalk Empire. Kattner recently scored the feature Dig Two Graves, TV Pilot Dead Body, the world premiere of Suzanne Heathcote’s I Saw My Neighbor On The Train And I Didn’t Even Smile and slings Music Supervision at Super Deluxe and The Exorcist when he’s not writing columns for The Talkhouse. His new album “Use Your Delusion” is the first monster released into the world by New Neighborhood Records. Ryan lives in Los Angeles dodging skunks and coming to terms with the coyote as his spirit animal.
