Catherine is  a founding member of New Neighborhood. She is also Resident Dramaturg at Yale Repertory Theatre and the Chair of Dramaturgy and Dramatic Criticism at Yale School of Drama. Her favorite projects with New Neighborhood include Rolin Jones’s  These Paper Bullets!, I Saw My Neighbor on the Train and I Didn’t Even Smile by Suzanne Heathcote, and Lucas Papaelias’s ByWayz, all directed by Jackson Gay. Her Yale Rep credits include Father Comes Home From the Wars, Happy DaysElevada, These Paper Bullets!, In a Year with 13 Moons, The Winter’s Tale, Bossa Nova, POP!, Trouble in Mind, and The King Stag (which she also co-adapted with Evan and Mike Yionoulis). Her adaptation of Pride and Prejudice has been produced at Asolo Repertory Theatre and Dallas Theater Center. She has worked at Theatre for a New Audience, Royal Shakespeare Company, The Public Theater, Yale Institute for Music Theatre, the Signature Theatre, O’Neill Playwrights Conference, Center Stage, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, and on a project in development at HBO. She is a former associate editor of American Theatre and a former editor of Theater magazine. She received her doctorate from Yale in 1999 for her dissertation: If You Care to Blast for It: Excavating the Lost Comic Masterpieces of the American Canon.
